Orders and returns
At Modern Telescopes (India’s Largest Telescope Store), we prioritize quality and customer satisfaction. Due to the delicate nature of our products, we have a strict no-refund policy. Please review our order and returns policy carefully before making a purchase. Also, we request customers to make complete video recording as stated at the end of this page in video recording guidelines.
1. Order Confirmation & Payment
- All orders require 100% advance payment before processing.
- Once payment is confirmed, an order acknowledgment will be sent via email/SMS.
2. No Refund Policy
- Telescopes are highly delicate, precision instruments—once shipped, we do not offer refunds under any circumstances.
- Please verify product specifications, compatibility, and warranty terms before purchasing.
3. Returns & Replacements (Only for Manufacturing Defects)
- Eligibility: Defects must be reported within 3 days of delivery with supporting images/videos.
- Process:
- Customer must contact support ([Email/Phone]) for approval.
- If a defect is verified, only the faulty part will be replaced or repaired (full unit replacement not guaranteed).
- The customer must ship the telescope (or part) back to Modern Telescopes’ office.
- Repaired/replaced parts will be shipped back free of charge.
- Non-Eligible Cases: Damage due to mishandling, improper use, accidental and electric damage will not be considered.
4. Warranty Coverage
- Warranty covers manufacturing defects only (excludes wear & tear, accidental damage, electric damage, wrong use of adaptors or misuse).
- Warranty claims require proof of purchase and defect verification by our team.
- Celestron, Unistellar and ZWO has 2 years of warranty, rest other brands comes with 1 year warranty.
Video Recording Guideline
At Modern Telescopes (India’s Largest Telescope Store), we prioritize transparency and customer satisfaction. To ensure a smooth resolution in case of any issues, we require video recording during the unboxing and initial inspection of your telescope.
Why Video Recording is Important?
- Proof of Condition at Delivery – Telescopes are delicate, precision instruments. A video helps verify if damage occurred during transit or was pre-existing.
- Faster Claim Processing – Clear video evidence speeds up warranty/insurance claims for manufacturing defects or shipping damage.
- Prevents Disputes – Protects both the customer and Modern Telescopes by providing an unbiased record of the product’s condition upon arrival.
Video Recording Guidelines
- Before Unboxing:
- Record the sealed package (show shipping label and any visible external damage).
- During Unboxing:
- Film the entire unboxing process without cuts.
- Show all components, accessories, and packaging materials.
- Initial Inspection:
- Check for scratches, dents, misalignments, or missing parts.
- Test basic functions (if possible) and record any irregularities.
How to Submit Video Evidence?
- If an issue is found, email the unedited video within 24 hours to:

Exceptions & Notes
- Bulk/Dealer / discounted Orders: Video recording is not required as it is dealer’s responsibility to avail the insurance
- Insurance Claims: Courier companies often require unboxing videos for damage reimbursement.
- Please note minor scratches or dents doesn’t cause any issue during observations.
