I have bought this telescope last month and can certainly say that this is the best telescope for visual observation and literally the best one in this price range.I was going to buy the 10 inch one but compromised on the portability on that one.I think before assembling it you should take a look on tutorials of base assembling because i made some little mistakes and the manual comes in the OTA box so unbox it before the base box and just grab the manual. I would advise to make a portable custom padded carry bag which is essential for every dob, dont buy it from online its too expensive, just make it from a local shop and carefully choose the foam or padding material. The telescope does not come with a barlow of any type so I would suggest the gso 2x ed barlow for this telescope and remember this telescope and its accesorries are going to work and keep you entertained in the hobby for a long time so invest meaningfully in its accesories. Like i suggested the barlow, there are many accesories and always think twice before investing and make sure you keep your accesories safe and in a clean environment. The ota can be carried by one person but make sure to be careful when putting the ota on the base. Balance it properly before putting it on the base. You can visit the website astroindianx store for affordable accesories for this like laser collimator and all. The eyepieces are also pretty good both 2" and 1.25" ones. Also you would have to buy a smartphone adapter separately if you want to do astrophotography with smartphone. Laser collimator is a must (visit online sites for affordable price). Interpret the manual correctly and double check before any step in assembling the base. You would not need to use the fan much (for visual purposes) but make sure to turn on fan about 30 min before start of the session as it would enhance the visual experience. Make sure to put the black rubber band that came in finder scope bracket box and put it in the middle inner line (there are 2 lines 1 at the very starting of finder and one in the middle) before putting the finder scope in the bracket and the silvery metal button on the bracket is a push button for stability of finder so pull it by some force, insert the finder and then release the push button (also adjusting the black screws out when inserting the finder). For those who have a question that it would fit in a car or not, so YES it would fit in a car BUT you need to have proper packaging or carry bags that ensures it stays at rest the back seat would be covered by the telescope so in a normal 5 seater car, only 2 would be able to travel with that but if you have more boot space in the deck, Congrats you are lucky! for distances like 20 upto 50 km if road is good then it will be good to carry in the car otherwise for longer distance transport will be difficult so hire a transport services for that but again if you have better boot space and decent packing and arrangement then you are good to go!.
You should learn to have better collimation and it would require some time to get used to it. The major issue is the portability only. Overall 10/10 best high quality product
