Drawing on experience from iOptron’s acclaimed CEM series, unnecessary bulk has been eliminated to achieve an outstanding 2.5:1 payload-to-mount weight ratio. With a mount weight of only 17.5 lbs (7.9 kg), the GEM45 can accurately GOTO and track up to 45 lbs (20 kg) of equipment—ideal for refractors, SCTs, astrographs, DSLR setups, and cooled astronomy cameras.

Precision Tracking Made Simple

The GEM45 features an integrated iPolar™ electronic polar scope, allowing fast and extremely precise polar alignment—even when Polaris is obscured. Large quick-lock gear clutches enable easy engagement of the drive gears, even while wearing gloves. The internal cable management system minimizes cable drag and snagging, ensuring smooth slews and reliable long-exposure imaging.

High-quality precision stepper motors, combined with low periodic error (< ±7.5 arc seconds) and Permanent Periodic Error Correction (PPEC), deliver smooth tracking and dependable GOTO accuracy. The Go2Nova® hand controller with Advanced GOTONOVA® technology, built-in heater, and a 212,000+ object database makes navigation intuitive and powerful.

Rock-Solid LiteRoc Tripod

Included with this package is the new LiteRoc 1.75″ stainless steel tripod, offering impressive rigidity, improved leg locks, and enhanced vibration damping—all in a lighter and more compact form than traditional tripods. A 6″ dual dovetail saddle supports both Losmandy-D and Vixen style plates, adding flexibility for multiple optical tube assemblies.
